buisness success elites

NielsenIQ (NIQ) has named Joe Ellis as the new Managing Director for its India operations, reinforcing the company’s commitment to one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly evolving markets. The appointment follows the merger of NielsenIQ and GfK last year, which resulted in the creation of the world’s largest consumer intelligence firm, with an enhanced focus on omnichannel coverage, predictive analytics, and advanced business intelligence tools.

Strengthening Presence in India

India plays a central role in NielsenIQ’s global strategy. The country houses the firm’s largest traditional trade measurement panel and is home to more than 10,000 associates across its local business operations and Global Capability Centers. With three regional commercial offices in India, the firm is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for data and insights that fuel consumer decision-making across industries.

Ellis, who has spent over 25 years with NielsenIQ, brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the Indian market. His previous roles have included leadership positions in regional and global verticals, and he has held two significant assignments in India. In 2004, he established the company’s BASES division, which specializes in proprietary simulated test marketing. Later, in 2013, he led the digitization and expansion of NielsenIQ’s retail measurement services across the country.

A Dynamic and Transforming Market

Reflecting on the evolving landscape, Ellis said, “The pace of change in India is unprecedented. The market offers a vast, untapped consumer base, and with rapid digitization, growing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and a thriving spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, it is one of the most exciting and energizing regions for us to be in.”

He also highlighted the strong partnerships NielsenIQ has nurtured with many of India’s largest companies over the years. “We have longstanding relationships built over half a century. Our role is to stay ahead, helping our clients meet their growth objectives by leveraging our world-class suite of products and services.”

A Vision for the Future

As Managing Director, Joe Ellis will lead the next phase of NielsenIQ’s expansion in India, ensuring the company continues to innovate and stay at the forefront of consumer intelligence. His leadership will be crucial in helping clients navigate the complexities of India’s fast-changing market, while continuing to support the country’s digital transformation and growth.

With his deep experience in both local and global markets, Ellis is set to play a pivotal role in NielsenIQ’s ongoing success in India, building on the company’s legacy and helping shape the future of data-driven insights in the region.
