Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport is going to bring electric flying taxis, thanks to this partnership between Sarla Aviation and the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
Last month, two organization( Bengalaru’s Kempegowda International Airport limited and Sarla Aviation) signed a statement of collaboration for improving the environmental and societal impact of air transportation . These taxis are called electric vertical take-off and landing(eVTOL)aircraft, are designed to be quieter, faster and more eco friendly than regular helicopters.This capability ,developed in Karnataka to revolutionise air travel by introducing seven seater electric flying taxis.
Sarla Aviation which is a Bengaluru-based company founded by Adrian Schmidt, Rakesh Gaonkar, and Shivam Chauhan is leading this project. They are planning to launch this project in the next 2- 3 years.
It’s aim to introduce electric air taxis in India’s four busiest cities which is Bengaluru,Mumbai , Delhi and Pune in an affordable aerial taxis to the public .For instance, a trip from Bengaluru Airport to Electronic Cities would take just 19 minutes by air in comparison to 152 minutes by road, with a fare of Rs 1,700.
This company has focused on making air travel more affordable, reducing carbon emissions, and easing traffic in crowded cities. It is one of the key step of this organization for addressing Bengaluru’s traffic problems.Even after this , they still need to guide government regulations before these flying taxis can become a reality.
By offering air taxis, their goal to help reduce traffic in India’s bussiest cities . Their partnership with Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport shows that Sarla Aviation is becoming an important part of the future of city transportation. With this , Sarla Aviation is quickly emerging as a leader in the advanced air mobility sector, urban sector, driving innovation with its eVTOL aircraft Project.
The above three mentioned co- founders have worked with western air traffic startups while Chauhan was at Joby andGaonkar and Schmidst were with Lillum.
