In a pioneering initiative in the Indian telecom sector, Bharti Airtel has entered into an agreement with instant-commerce platform Blinkit to dispatch SIM cards to customers’ doorsteps in just 10 minutes.

Distributed in Delhi-NCR in pilot launch phase, this program strives to make mobile connections as quick and seamless as online grocery ordering. New customers can log in to the Blinkit app, choose Airtel SIM option, and have the card delivered in less than 10 minutes — with paperless KYC and instant activation.

This partnership not only transforms the way mobile connections are being delivered but also represents an important synergy of telecom with instant-commerce. It’s a step forward in customer outreach and digital experience for Airtel. It’s an organic expansion for Blinkit in high-priority necessities over grocery and food.

Airtel’s chief marketing officer indicated that the brand is concentrating on reaching customers where they are — and providing connectivity with zero wait. The service is currently available with prepaid SIMs, with plans to add postpaid and eSIMs in the near future.

Its success with the pilot may dictate its expansion to other metro cities, with plans to replicate the fee-free, seamless experience in other parts of India.
