Federal Bank Appoints Virat Diwanji as National Head of Consumer Banking to Drive Strategic Growth

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its retail banking proposition, Federal Bank has announced the appointment of Virat Diwanji as the National Head – Consumer Banking. He will also serve as a designated Senior Management Personnel within the organization.

Bringing with him over 30 years of deep domain expertise, Virat joins from Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he held the role of Group President and Head of Consumer Bank. His illustrious career includes pivotal roles at Ford Credit and A F Ferguson & Co., alongside board-level responsibilities as a Non-Executive and Independent Director at various reputed organizations.

Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, Virat is widely acknowledged in the industry for his strategic acumen, people-first leadership, and in-depth understanding of the consumer banking ecosystem.

His appointment marks a pivotal step in Federal Bank’s journey to expand across new markets, customer demographics, and digital-first banking solutions. As the financial services landscape in India continues to evolve rapidly, Virat’s leadership is expected to boost innovation, customer-centric offerings, and long-term sustainable growth.
