Ganti Venkateswarlu Appointed Director at Hindustan Shipyard Limited

Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has announced the appointment of Ganti Venkateswarlu as Director (Shipbuilding), effective November 29, 2024. who has been with the company since May 2018, takes on this leadership position following his tenure as Additional General Manager at HSL.

Venkateswarlu’s career at Hindustan Shipyard has been marked by significant contributions across multiple business segments, including Shipbuilding, Submarine Retrofitment, and Ship Repairs. As Head of Business Development, he played a crucial role in securing HSL’s largest order to date—the construction of five Fleet Support Ships for the Indian Navy. In addition to this, Venkateswarlu has been instrumental in the successful completion of key ship repair projects, including the timely refits of INS Sindhuvir, Astradharni, Sujata, Sutlej, and others.

An alumnus of the prestigious Naval College of Engineering, Lonavla, and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Venkateswarlu brings over 25 years of diverse experience from his time in the Indian Navy. His naval service has included assignments on front-line warships, as well as postings at Indian naval dockyards, both domestically and internationally.

As Director (Shipbuilding) at HSL, Venkateswarlu will lead the company’s shipbuilding operations, ensuring the efficient execution of orders and contributing to the company’s growth within the indigenous defense sector. His leadership aligns with the Indian government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, driving innovation and self-reliance in defense manufacturing.

With his extensive expertise in shipbuilding and defense, Venkateswarlu is poised to help Hindustan Shipyard further its mission of excellence in indigenous ship construction and repair, while advancing India’s capabilities in the global maritime defense industry.
