BharatPe has successfully reached a definitive settlement with its former co-founder, Ashneer Grover, marking the end of years of contentious legal disputes. Under the terms of the agreement, Grover will cut all ties with BharatPe and will no longer hold any shares in the company. This settlement is viewed as a critical turning point for both BharatPe and Grover, allowing both parties to move forward without the shadow of ongoing litigation.

In an official statement, BharatPe announced that Grover would no longer be associated with the company in any capacity. Grover’s shareholding in BharatPe will be restructured, with a portion of his shares transferred to the Resilient Growth Trust, a structure that will manage them for the benefit of BharatPe. His remaining shares will be handled by his family trust.

The settlement also includes the mutual agreement to drop all pending legal cases filed by both parties, signaling the end of a long period of legal confrontations. The dispute stemmed from Grover’s departure from BharatPe in 2022, which followed allegations of financial misconduct involving his tenure as a senior executive. These accusations included fraudulent payments, inflated vendor bills, and other irregularities. Investigations into these claims led to his exit and the dismissal of his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, who was BharatPe’s Head of Controls at the time.

The legal saga took a more serious turn recently when Deepak Gupta, a relative of Grover and former Head of Procurement at Resilient Innovation (BharatPe’s parent company), was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police. Gupta is implicated in an Rs 81 crore fraud case, adding to the legal complications surrounding the company and its former leadership.

In a social media post on platform X, Grover expressed his satisfaction with the settlement, stating that he had reached a decisive resolution with BharatPe. He commended the company’s management and board for their efforts in guiding BharatPe forward. Grover emphasized that he remains aligned with the company’s goals but will no longer be involved with BharatPe in any formal capacity.

This settlement brings a sense of closure to a tumultuous chapter in BharatPe’s history, allowing the company to focus on its future growth.
