Songyee Yoon has officially joined HP Inc.’s Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of expertise in artificial intelligence, technology, and global business. As the founder and managing partner of Principal Venture Partners, Yoon has an impressive leadership background, including her tenure as president of NCSoft Corporation, a renowned gaming development company.
Chip Bergh, Chair of HP’s Board, expressed enthusiasm about Yoon’s appointment, noting her extensive knowledge of AI and emerging technologies. “Songyee’s expertise in international business and her experience driving technological innovation will be invaluable as we continue to evolve HP’s strategic priorities,” Bergh said.
Throughout her career, Yoon has made significant contributions to the fields of AI, technology, and corporate leadership across various industries. She holds a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience from MIT, a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
In addition to her work with Principal Venture Partners, Yoon has been a key figure in South Korea’s technological landscape, serving as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council for Science and Technology for two consecutive administrations. Her experience was further solidified during her time at NCSoft, where she led the company’s international expansion and spearheaded the integration of AI into its operations.
Yoon’s venture fund, which focuses on AI-native investments, aligns perfectly with HP’s efforts to enhance its AI-driven solutions as the company continues to expand its artificial intelligence capabilities. Enrique Lores, HP’s President and CEO, also expressed his excitement for Yoon’s appointment, emphasizing her vital role in shaping HP’s vision for the future of work. “Songyee’s extensive experience in AI will be crucial as we work to position HP as a leader in AI-powered technology,” Lores stated.
