GatesAir Appoints Tamjeed Ahmad to Lead South Asia Sales Operations

GatesAir has announced the appointment of Tamjeed Ahmad as its new South Asia Regional Sales Manager. With nearly 20 years of experience in the broadcast industry, Ahmad will focus on overseeing operations and driving growth in the FM radio and digital television sectors across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives.

Having previously worked at prominent companies like AJA Video Systems and Imagine Communications, Ahmad brings a wealth of industry knowledge and a deep understanding of the South Asia market. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for the region, as the Indian government’s FM licensing initiative, which aims to roll out up to 730 FM channels in Tier II and III cities, continues to unfold. This ambitious project will require significant upgrades to transmission infrastructure, including the installation of new FM transmitters.

In his new role, Ahmad will collaborate closely with GatesAir’s local partners, such as Horizon Broadcast in India, to support the FM licensing and television projects. His team will be involved in the full scope of operations, including site planning, systems design, equipment procurement, installation, and post-sales support.

GatesAir offers a range of advanced products for new FM broadcasters in India, including the Flexiva GX family of analog transmitters, as well as the Flexiva FAX and FLX models for those looking to transition to digital radio in the future.
