L & T has announced that Its Wholetime Director and President of Energy Subramanian Sarma has been elevated to Deputy Managing Director and President effective April 2, 2025. Sarma has worked at the company for over 40 years and led L & T’s Middle East business for three decades, making him a valuable asset to the firm’s current operations.
This change has also been accompanied by an extension of his term until Fabruary 3, 20228, which also needs to be ratified by shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). L & T shareholders appeared to react positively to the news as on that day the stock closed up 68.15 at 3417.35 (+2.03%).
Chairman and Managing Director of L & T SN Subrahmanyan Sarma praised Sarma’s leadership of the hydrocarbon and energy businesses saying that under his direction there was significant innovation and improvements in the operational performance and competitiveness globally. The firm’s recent changes to its corporate structure are believed to help sustain growth across its engineering, construction and energy activities, thus further consolidating the firm’s leadership position in infrastructure and technology.
